Project

Charles J. Colgan High School

Charles J. Colgan High School is the largest high school in the state of Virginia. At 340,000 sq. feet, this beautifully designed school was a grand departure from the typical cookie cutter school concept. Built for Prince William County Public Schools, Beckstrom worked with The Christman Company to complete this project on budget and on schedule. Awarded to Beckstrom in December of 2013; this school reached its completion in the summer of 2016. Charles J. Colgan High School has a state of the art auditorium that seats 2282 people and includes a fully operational orchestra pit rivaling many auditoriums seen at the collegiate level. The school also features some wonderfully designed exterior spaces for students to gather for study and socializing. Charles J. Colgan also features an indoor Olympic size swimming pool coupled with a large kid play area including water slides and pool activities. A second level grand stand overlooks the pool offering a great view for competitions.
